22 Issues All Australians Should Be Considering in the Upcoming Federal Election

22. Marxism/Wokeism

Woke Culture which is just a modern variation of Cultural Marxism, and is destroying this country. We need politicians who will point out the lies of Woke culture, and stand against its destructive policy ideas, before it is too late.

21. Taxes

The current taxation system in Australia is exorbitant and confusing. This results in those who know how to work the system paying very little tax, while everyone else is unnecessarily burdened. The other problem with our current taxation system is that the overwhelming majority of the taxes go to the Federal Government, while State and Local Government do not get enough. This means that the State and Local Governments are not sufficiently independent from the Federal Government as they are supposed to be. The current taxation system in Australia needs to be completely overhauled; including the phasing-out of income tax and business tax.

20. Individual Privacy

Historically privacy is something that was valued by Western nations such as Australia however, that is not really the case anymore. Back in World War II westerners found it hard to believe that in Nazi Germany you were expected to carry ID with you wherever you went, and could be asked to show it without reason. The reality in Australia today is not too far off it, almost every time an adult in Australia leaves home, they carry some form of ID with them, and almost every adult in Australia has at some point been pulled-over by the police for no reason and asked to show ID (driver’s license). With an increase in technology and increase in crime-rates has come an increase in surveillance. Cameras and other forms of surveillance are not necessarily a bad thing, in fact, they can at times be useful, but the reality is that all totalitarian states have desired high-levels of surveillance, and shown a disregard for individual privacy. We must vote for politicians that see the value in individual privacy, and limited governmental control.

19. A Christian Nation

The Preamble to the Australian Constitution includes this statement, “Humbly relying on the blessing of the Almighty God.” It has become popular to say that Australia is a secular nation, but that is not true. Australia was intentionally designed by its Constitution, and by popular vote of the people, to be a Christian nation, and the laws, structure, and culture of Australia are all expected to follow this reality.

This is an important issue for all people not just Christians, because it is the Christian basis of the laws, structure, and culture of our nation that has made Australia into the great nation that it is today. And it is the rejection of this Christian foundation, that is threatening to ruin the greatness of Australia.

18. Covid Inquiry

When the Wu-Flu (aka Covid 19) first hit, we were told outrageous claims of mass deaths (such as 150,000 Australians dying in the next 12 months), in order to justify extreme government over-reach. Then when a vaccine was introduced, people were forced to have it against their will, only for it to soon become obvious that the vaccine didn’t work. A thorough and honest investigation into what happened, and how the secretive and unconstitutional National Cabinet came to the decisions that it did, would be beneficial for all, but very unlikely to ever happen.

17. Government Debt

The Australian Government is now 1 trillion dollars in debt, with the government paying well over 20 billion dollars a year in interest on this debt. This is a phenomenally large number, that will be a burden on both current, and future generations of Australians, if it is not treated as a top priority of the next government to drastically reduce this debt. Fortunately, there are many ways in which the government can cut expenses, and begin reducing this debt, we just need to vote for politicians who care enough about future generations to actually do it.

16. Welfare

The Government spends over 200 billion dollars every year on welfare. It is good to be concerned about the welfare of others, but government run welfare is not the only way to take care of those in need. Before the government took over the running of welfare in Australia there was extensive and effective welfare being provided to our citizens, some people did full through the cracks, as many still do today. The biggest difference is that back then we didn’t have a major problem with generational welfare dependency like we do today. The Government must look at which forms of welfare are not working, and begin to phase them out and then slowly privatise all other forms of welfare.

15. Freedom of Religion

Freedom of Religion is a uniquely Christian idea, and so it should come as no surprise that as we reject our Christian foundation, the idea of Freedom of Religion is coming under attack, and ironically it is Christians who are most at-risk of losing their religious freedom. I do not believe this is an accident, the Secularist know that Christians are the only ones that will fight for the religious freedom of others, so, if they get rid of the Christian’s there will be no-one left to fight for religious freedom.

14. Marriage & Family

The attack on family began with the relaxing of divorce laws, but reached a new level with the legalisation of Same-Sex marriage. Now parental rights are under attack like never before, with the government slowly taking over the role of raising your kids, and threatening to take them off you if you don’t voluntarily hand them over. Parents must have complete authority over how their children are educated, and there should be no medical treatments given to children without their parents’ consent.

13. Education Reform

The Education system as it currently stands is more interested in indoctrination than it is education. The current education system includes truth claims that are in some cases unverifiable, and in other cases demonstrably false. Since the Australian curriculum has been introduced it has been forcibly imposed on all schools. Private schools must be given complete freedom to develop and/or use the curriculum of their choosing. Then the Australian Curriculum should be done away with, and the role of education given back to the States, who need to develop curriculum for the purpose of education not indoctrination.

12. National Pride

There has been an on-going attack on national pride in Australia for decades, and now as a result most young Australian have no pride in being Australian. And as a result of that there are very few people choosing to join the military, as no-one wants to defend a country and a culture that they dis-like or feel indifferently about. We need political leaders that are proud to be Australian, and are not ashamed to voice it. We need politicians who will dismiss the continuous attacks on Australia Day, the burning of the Australian flag, the never-ending charade of being welcomed to our own country, and the mixed messaging of having three national flags.

11. Sexual Exploitation

Australia is experiencing a pornography pandemic, and with the emergence of the internet and more recently smartphones predators are now able to more easily target teenagers and even children. On top of this we now have some states that have fully legalised prostitution, resulting in sex-slaves being brought into the country. Although these issues are best addressed at a state-level, a federal government that has a desire to curb this behaviour will help to curb its growth on a federal level and empower state governments to take more drastic action.

10. Gender Transition

In the last few years, the transgender ideology has taken over our country. There has always been a small number of people that have struggled with gender dysphoria and other similar ideas, but now that it is fashionable, and that the idea is actively being promoted to kids at school the problem has sky-rocketed. One problem with the modern ideology around this is that anyone who tries to help someone struggling with gender dysphoria in any way, other than to encourage them to undergo some form of medical treatment; is branded as a transphobe and can be prosecuted for it. The biggest problem with the modern ideology is the way it is being pushed onto children, often without their parents’ knowledge, and then kids are encouraged to engage in medical treatment that will have lifelong implications, that in most cases they later regret. This issue is also predominantly a state issue, but there are things the federal government can do to put the brakes on what is currently happening.

9. Anti-Semitism

Over the last 18 months there has been a rise in antisemitism, that I never would have predicted. We need politicians that will fight against this in a healthy way. Spreading misinformation regarding the war in the Middle-East and sympathising with the perpetrators of Antisemitism like our Prime-Minister has is not helpful. And introducing more anti-discrimination and hate-speech laws like our Opposition Leader initiated is not helpful either. Condemning antisemitic behaviour, cutting funding from organisations that are promoting it, and fighting against with the laws we already have in place, would be a much better approach.

8. Big Government & De-Regulation

Small government used to be one of the core tenants of western countries like Australia, but over the years, our once small government, has become excessively big. Small government reduces expenditure, big government increases it; small government encourages individual freedom and strong communities, big government threatens both; small government encourages initiative and free-thinking, big government encourages uniformity, compliance and close-mindedness. We need politicians who are committed to drastically reducing the size of government and increasing private enterprise.

7. Immigration

Australia has been greatly blessed, and has become a successful and prosperous nation. It is right as a successful and prosperous nation that we should be quick to welcome people from other less fortunate nations to come and live here. But this should not be done in such a way that it impoverishes those who already live here, because doing so will prevent us from being able to continue to welcome in those in need in the future. The government also has a responsibility to protect its own citizens and therefore should be doing adequate background checks to prevent criminals from coming into the country. And we should be particularly aiming to bring in those who are most vulnerable and/or those who are most likely to adapt to our culture and way of life. Currently our immigration system in most cases neglects the most vulnerable and targets those who are least likely to adapt to our culture and way of life.

6. Energy

The current government is digging their heels in when it comes to transitioning our energy sources to being fully reliant upon renewables. This is despite the fact that this attempt has already driven power prices up, and is set to do so by much more in the future. This is despite the fact that wind and solar are worse for the environment than fossil fuels. Coal is the cheapest and most reliable source of power we currently have, it may be wise to supplement coal with other sources of energy, but until we discover a better source of power we should not abandon what we know works.

5. Defence

Australia’s defence capabilities are about the worse they have ever been and getting worse. While having nuclear subs will be beneficial for Australia, under the current AUKUS deal it is likely we won’t have them until years after we need them. The current Geo-Political climate is the worse it has been since the end of the Cold War (although things have definitely improved since Donal Trump was re-elected), with the risk of World War III being a realistic possibility, yet we are woefully under-prepared for such a possibility.

4. World War III & Geo-Politics

The war in Ukraine between the globalists and Russia could easily escalate, with most of Europe backing the globalists and threatening to potentially put boots on the ground not just throw billions of dollars at it. On the other side Putin recently had a meeting in Moscow with the leaders of multiple countries all of which were vowing to support Russia if necessary. The conflict in the Middle East has the potential to escalate, and could become intertwined with the war in Ukraine, particularly with Russia’s long-term relationship with Iran. President Xi in China has publicly declared that he intends to bring Taiwan under his rule in the next few years. This conflict also could become intertwined with the others, with China having shown a key interest in expanding into the Middle East over the last few years, and the strong relationship between Russia and China. Fortunately, with the election of Donald Trump there is now a significant world leader that is actually advocating for peace, but with so many others bent on war it is difficult to know how successful his attempts will be. With all this going on it would be beneficial to have a Prime Minister who was skilled in dealing with Geo-Politics, and that had the strength to lead us through a major war if we were to find ourselves in that situation.

3. Free-Speech

Free-Speech has historically been a bedrock of western nations like Australia, but today is under attack. Many laws including anti-discrimination laws, hate-speech laws and misinformation laws have been proposed or introduced in order to limit free-speech. Add to this cultural movements such as political correctness and cancel culture and the result is that many people feel like they cannot speak freely, particularly if they hold a few contrary to that held by the elites of our society. We need politicians that will reverse legislation that limits free-speech, and enact legislation that will protect free-speech, as well as publicly demonstrating support for a culture of free-speech.

2. Euthanasia

Euthanasia is now legal in most states in Australia, and in every state where it has been legalised, we have seen a steady increase in deaths relating to Euthanasia. In Qld Euthanasia was legalised in January 2023 within the next 18 months more than 1,000 people were killed by means of Euthanasia, and with momentum gaining. We need to show love and care to the elderly in our nation, rather than making them feel unwanted and encouraging them to kill themselves. This is primarily a state issue, but a federal government that values life will make a big difference in reversing this trend and empowering state governments to change these laws.

1. Abortion

Abortion is the leading cause of death in Australia with almost 90,000 Australians babies being killed via abortion every year. Although this issue is primarily a state issue, it is one that the federal government has the right to intervene in because it is an issue regarding human life. The federal government is given the responsibility of protecting the lives of its citizens, and so they are within their powers to over-rule state legislation in order to protect life.
